Some testimonials from members

Cottonwood Speakers has been my best investment in time and energy ever!!

I have always been ‘OK’ at public speaking, but joining a public speaking club where the whole group is supportive and welcoming has opened my eyes to my potential. The meetings are a wonderful blend of fun and serious, of spectator and participant and there’s been many a meeting where I feel I’ve been more nervous for the speaker than they were themselves.

I’d recommend anyone who is interested in developing their confidence, technique or style to come along and see what a positive difference a club like Cottonwood Speakers can make to their public speaking skills.

Richard Mack (Jan08)

I have been a Cottonwood Speaker for nearly two years and due to redundancy it has been a turbulent time!

Toastmasters boosted my confidence, improved my public speaking skills, and provided a new network of colleagues and friends. All this helped me find a new job and encouraged me to start a new hobby at the age of 51 – stand up comedy, or on a bad night, lie-down comedy!

Keith Hart (Dec07)

In 2004, even though I had run many meetings, I did not feel good giving presentations: the preparation, the worry about keeping the audience's attention, not to mention the thought of questions! What I needed was a place to practice:in the shallow end rather than an all-at-sea experience!
