Our meeting reports
are now sent to all visitors, so this page will be removed eventually. The
last meeting in 2007 is included here as it is typical of the new reports.
(Note that the Suffragette talk won the club speech contest during March
and Hazel represented the club in the area contest!)
What a shame if you missed the last
meeting! Another great time was had by all.
A disappointingly low attendance (Christmas
preparations no doubt to blame) helped to foster even more thant the usual
level of teamwork to cover roles without players! The highlights were:-
1. Another riveting, historical speech
from Hazel about the inspiring suffragettes. (Question: how is your balance
between words another deeds?)
2. Two marvellous ice-breakers:
- Mark Howell, despite his reference
to following Lesley's accomplished ice-breaker - took us all on a fascinating
journey about his multiple careers
- Alexandra Berschy, used the packaging
metaphor to describe herself: what would you describe as your ingredients?
3. Managing a meeting without the red
box! How did we do the timings? The voting? Creativity prevailed and nothing
went undone. Well done all. (Barry promises to remember it next time, as long
as we remind him!)
