An exceptional meeting was held on 25th November at our usual venue.  Several new members taking roles for the first time.   Well done to Robert Carter (Sargeant-at-Arms) and Tim Berry (Grammarian with the word dichotomy).

Despite numerous 'last minute' and during the actual meeting changes, Andrew Collinson moved the meeting forward serenely as our Toastmaster of the evening.  Andrew also provided a succinct 'Educational slot'.  Pointing out the effective use of short sentences and abbreviations to help flow in speeches amongst other helpful points.  Experience shows Andrew.

We benefitted from four speeches.  Soroosh Farid and Alex Langer with excellent 'IceBreaker' speeches.  Dan Webb talked about how to move out of one's comfort zone and then Lesley Lyle completed her Competent Communicator 'number 10' with a wonderfully inspiring speech about her journey through Toastmasters to date.  Lesley won the best speech of the evening.

Best Evaluator was Tony Peters who is beginning to make a habit of collecting such awards.  The other evaluators were David Singleton-Smith, Steve Osborne, Dave Hassell and Shirley Thompson.

Peter Roxburgh managed a favourite fruit themed Table Topics which was won by Kenny Jones.  Kenny successfully juggled a Mango to the floor on several occasions during his speech.

Peter did a fine job of keeping the audience involved and in effective transitions from one speaker to the next.

Great fun, great speeches and lots of enthusiasm.
