Welcome to Cottonwood Speakers - Bournemouth's Premier Public Speaking Club!

Home

Our mission is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth through developing public speaking and effective presentation skills.

We help people from all walks of life to become better able to speak in public. Each meeting is carefully designed to provide everyone attending with the opportunity to speak and receive feedback - although no-one has to speak unless they wish to do so!

We are affiliated to Toastmasters International

Our club is affiliated to Toastmasters International and is one of more than 8000 such clubs currently operating in 51 countries throughout the world.

The Toastmasters approach provides a step by step method of developing your skill as a speaker through its 10 project Communication and Leadership and Development Programme, followed by unlimited opportunities for advanced speech development projects.

You will also learn to speak at short notice, chair meetings, evaluate other speakers, compete in speech contests, as well as enjoying a regular fun and entertaining night out with like-minded people!

GUESTS ARE VERY WELCOME - Please check our 'Next Meeting' page and email or phone to say you will be coming along. You will be made welcome and enjoy a fun evening in a friendly and supportive environment, and can come to two meetings free of charge. When you decide to join, membership is only a one-off joining fee of £20 then £9 per month by standing order covering two meetings each month.
